Another week gone by!

Happy Fall!!!!

My computer crashed this week, of. course. during the first few weeks of school, and I still don’t have my new one yet, so this is going to be interesting.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m enjoying this cooler weather, especially at night. I’m even liking this rain we’re having today and looks like it could stick around the next few days.

Autumn is officially here though, I mean, the pumpkin spice is in full mode! I think its a competition to see what company can come out with the most pumpkin spice products. How cool would some pumpkin spice deodorant be?!

but really, I love it just as much as everyone else.

If you’re not feeling in the fall spirit, take a trip up to Herman’s Produce, that’ll do the trick!

They have the most beautiful displays, and a great variety of pumpkins, gourds, and mums. We went a couple times this week for a few things, and of course I came out with way more than I planned, but hey, my porch is lookin’ good.

I let Rosalie pick out a few smaller pumpkins and at first she was all excited and couldn’t decide, then she saw the flowers.. girl after my own heart!

We got Llewyn a little baby pumpkin, it’s just his size!

Rosalie has said some really funny stuff this week, I mean, where does she come up with this stuff? Here are a couple cute things from the month of Rosalie.

While driving to town– “mom, can you pause the car for a minute”

“Another day I need to grown up really fast so I can be a ballerina”

“mom, can I have some hanitizer?” Hand Sanitizer

“I was little once, I was two.”

“Will Llewyn go back in your belly?”

“I don’t want dinner, it’ll make my tummy hurt….pauses…a cookie would make me feel better though.”

Conversations with three years old is what the good life is made of!

here are some photos!

Happy Friday!

I just realized its been a whole week since I last posted. The week has just flown by, but it does when you’re having fun, right? I think I was brainwashed, because for some reason I decided to go back to school this semester instead of taking a little break and going back in the spring… don’t. know. what. I. was. thinking. It’s taking A LOT of self discipline and we’re only like two weeks in. I’ll let ya know how that goes…

Last weekend I took Rosalie and Llewyn to Charlottesville to hear some great music, Fatty Lumpkin and The Love Hogs, at the out door pavilion. My mom is married to one of the band members (Michael George) so there was more reason than just good music. I’ve gotta say, I was slightly terrified to go up there with the kids by myself, thank goodness Lily went with me, what a gem she is!  Did I mention how awesome Lily is?! Llewyn is pretty laid back (when he’s not in his car seat) so I don’t worry about him much, but my Rosalie, she is a wild child!! I worry she won’t be able to take care of herself.. YEAH RIGHT! She made all kinds of kid friends and just danced her little heart away. Anyway, it was a great time; good music, lovely company, and the food. THE FOOD. Let’s talk about the food. I had never eaten from a food truck before, and the selection, was amazing, not to mention all the great little restaurants on the mall. Rosalie and I split some fries and these amazing avocado crunch sliders. It was basically a little hamburger bun (home made) with avocado, spinach, an onion ring, this really good slaw topped of with this spicy sauce. It was so good,  kinda crave it now. Speaking of food, I made fiftyish stuffed shells on Wednesday. I know, here I go with the crazy again..but Llewyn slept in the boba wrap, so it was like a no brainer! It was my momma’s birthday on Sunday, so everyone came over Wednesday for birthday dinner and cake.. and pie.. I also made enough for a sweet friend from church, which I was really intimidated by, because she’s basically Paula Deen. It was so great to have some family time though, laughing and crying because we’re laughing, I mean you don’t need therapy when you have people like that in your life! You guys are great. Here are a few pictures, I hope you enjoy and have a blessed and beautiful weekend.

Oh yeah, my hair is really dark, its taking some getting use to, but who can keep up with those highlights, when you can barley get out of the house with brushed hair. I did tell David yesterday, I wanted my light hair back. He’s so sweet, he just agrees and says he likes it how ever I like it.

Frozen Bananas

So last weekend Rosalie and I made these great frozen bananas that were really easy, slightly healthy and fun to make! You can basically add any ingredients you like or just have them as plain frozen bananas. We added all kinds of fun stuff to ours! Here’s how to:

DSC_0350 (2)

Like I said these are really easy. All you need is:

Bananas (each banana makes 2 pops)

Popsicle Sticks

Melted Chocolate or Hazelnut Spread

Toppings of your choice

We used- sprinkles, mini chips, almonds, coconut, this time but want to try dried fruit next time!

Cut your bananas in half, peel them (ha ha) and just push the popsicle in the middle.

Place them on a lined cookie sheet.

Next you want to either spoon the melted chocolate over the bananas, covering all sides

or have your little ones dip them in which is great fun!

Then just place them back on the sheet.

Next is the best part, just have your kids decorate them with all the toppings.

Keep an eye on them, if they are like Rosalie, you turn your back for 60 seconds and BAMB..

half the toppings are gone ..

and they weren’t on the bananas!

Put them in the freezer for a couple hours (the longer the better if you can resist)

ours made it like 30 minutes…

and that’s it!!!

and that’s it!!

I didn’t get a picture of Rosalie enjoying them because they were consumed so fast.

Enjoy and have a great weekend!

Labor Day Weekend

I hope everyone had a nice, relaxing Labor Day weekend! We had a great one. David and Rosalie spent Saturday on the backhoe digging some holes to pour footers at our house… I know, its still not finished!! Basically we have rebuilt the whole house and after this part is finished…well, I’m sure we’ll find something else to work on. I will be so happy when the master bedroom is all finished though…things are getting a little tight upstairs now that Llewyn is here. While Rosalie and David were playing in the dirt, and digging, Llewyn and I went grocery shopping…woo hoo! Llewyn slept in the carrier the entire time, which was super!! It was kind of like a nice little break for me. Sunday we went to church and the kids and I actually got there early, like 30 minutes early, which ever happens! It was nice not having to feel rushed and to actually have the time to put a little lipstick on and make sure my earrings matched….that has happened before! After church we met Uncle Scott and Aunt Rhonda (David’s brother and sister in-law) for lunch. It’s always so nice spending time with them, because they live a couple hours away and will be moving out west soon. Sunday night we went to the Drive-Inn to see Minions, and what a blast that was. First off, how lucky are we to have Hulls Drive-Inn in our community, and second, if you haven’t seen Minions, you should because it’s great! Monday David had to work, only half a day which was nice. Rosalie and I made some awesome Frozen Banana Pop’s, which I will include a “how to” in my next post. Here are a few photo from our weekend!

Balancing Time and My Little Ballerina

Since Llewyn has been born, a lot of the time I spent doing things with Rosalie is now time I spend holding, nursing, changing, rocking Llewyn. I’m learning how to balance both little ones so each one gets special mom time and fun things just for them. It is so easy for the day to just fly by and you realize you’ve basically done nothing except nurse, change diapers, kissed little rolls and chins, and everything possible to comfort a needy baby, which is definitely something! and in my eyes, the perfect day… not sure how good that is for my house, where my dust bunnies are probably making there own dust bunnies…<we’ll talk about those guys later> It truly is amazing how much you can get done in a small amount of time after you’ve had kids. It use to take hours, to get the house cleaned, and now, I can do it in half the time.((it’s also amazing what you can get done when they nap together: folded eight loads of laundry, CHECK, cleaned the bathroom, CHECK, prepped for dinner, CHECK, painted my nails, twice, CHECK, watched water boil, CHECK, patiently waiting for babies to wake up because you’re getting bored and don’t know what to do with your time now, CHECK!!)) I’m going to talk more about tricks I’ve learned that make life a little easier in future posts!

Rosalie really has adjusted well having to share us with a sibling. Remember, she was the only child and grandchild on both sides. We really try to brag on what a good big sister she is (even when she tries to use Llewyn as a Barbie jungle gym) and how much she helps me throughout the day. A few weeks ago, we decided she could start taking dance classes, something she’s wanted to do for a while now, and she is LOVING it. It’s really great for her to have her own time and her own thing to look forward to each week. She wakes up Thursday mornings and say’s, “happy dance day, mom!” guysssss…..she melts my heart!!! I thought she would be nervous the first day, a couple weeks ago, and be shy like I was as a young kid…(righhhhhtttt) but golly, she surprised me! She got out there like she had known everyone her whole three years and danced like she had been doing it since she was in the womb, which she did in fact… It amazes me how much she’s taken in in just three short weeks.  She seems very focused and is taking this dance business very seriously. I’m so proud of the big sister she is and the little girl she’s becoming!! I hope she reads this when she becomes a teenager… I hope I read it too! So, what’s cuter than little girls in pink tights and tutus? Little girls dancing in pink tights and tutus!!! Here are a few photos.
