Two Favorite Pink Blush Dresses

I’ve been collaborating with Pink Blush over the past few months, and it has been so fun! I’ve found so many awesome pieces that I love ( that I’ll probably continue to wear even after I give birth!) They recently sent me a few dresses, that I’ve worn over the past couple weeks, and thought I would share, because who doesn’t love a good dress you can dress up, or down..?!

Black is probably one of my favorite “colors” to wear, especially while pregnant, because it’s so forgiving!  I dressed this dress (which is on sale right now ) up a bit, and wore it out to a special birthday dinner, for our Rosalie! I also, gave it a more casual look with a cap, adidas, and a little jean jacket (would be really cute for fall..too hot right now!)

Another perfect summer or fall dress that I received, and reach for weekly now, is this dress from Pink Blush. It’s beyond comfortable, and I love how versatile it is.

I also added a moto jacket to it, and loved this look!

Pink Blush  is offering 25% off all dresses through 8/19 with code loveatfirstdress

Banana Ice Cream

This sugar free (had to come back and edit this part…..I say sugar free, because I’m not adding any *refined sugar* so there is natural sugar, from the fruit in this dessert… beware…ha ha) dessert has become our favorite this summer! I thought I would share it for all you moms out there looking for something simple, healthy, and that you’re kids will love- enjoy!!

Banana Ice Cream

4 frozen bananas (cut into small rounds)

1/2 cup of coconut milk

1 teaspoon of vanilla (sugar free if you can find it)

Place cut up banana rounds on a wax paper covered plate and freeze completely. When you’re ready to make the ice cream, take them out and place them directly into your blender. Add half of the coconut milk, vanilla, and blend. Continue to add the rest of the coconut milk until desired consistency.

NOTE- Sometimes I have to add an entire cup of coconut milk, but make sure you stir a few times in between blending and adding milk because it can get very thin, very fast if you don’t! You can enjoy right away, or freeze and enjoy later!

We also like to stir in chopped peaches, or strawberries, and sometimes dark chocolate chunks and peppermint essential oil, for a mint chocolate chip flavor!

Our Favorite Back to School Finds

I can’t believe summer is almost gone, and school officially starts (for Rosalie anyway) in two weeks! Off to kindergarten she goes, and although I’ll miss her, we’re both excited for another great year at Rockbridge Christian Academy!

When I was thinking about putting together a “back to school” post, I’m thinking this might not be super helpful to many, just because Rosalie does go to a private school and has to wear uniforms. Honestly, I wasn’t thrilled about the uniforms at all, at first… I mean, that’s some of the fun of having a daughter, is picking out all the cute clothes, right!? Well, let me tell you about all the headache these uniforms saved me when it came to getting Rosalie ready in the mornings! I mean, when you only have a few color uniforms to pick from, it makes it a pretty simple process!

We kind of learned last year, how to spice up her uniform with cute shoes, hair clips, a cute jacket (which she can’t wear inside if it doesn’t match) or cute socks, and I have to say, its made mornings a breeze! So, here are a few of our favorite finds this year, private school or not, and I’ll link everything below too!

Back to school

1. Rosalie and I both love hair clips, and the Cat and Jack brand (from Target) have the cutest ones! You can find these above HERE!

2. This book bag is also Cat and Jack, and can be found HERE!

3. Rosalie loved these sneakers with the pom pom’s HERE also Cat and Jack (seriously though… the cutest stuff!)

4. The cute knee socks are from HERE!

5. These kitty shoes are probably our favorite shoes ( same company as her popsicle shoes and minnie and mickey shoes) and you can find them HERE!

6. I was surprised at how many places sell uniforms. Her school colors are Navy, Light Blue, Khaki, and White. This year, we bought quite a few dresses from HERE!

That pizza hair clip is my favorite……. everything linked above!!!

And here are a few of Rosalie’s non-school picks!

Essential Oil Mermaid Hair Leave in Conditioner

DSC_4177Let me start by saying, I’m working with four day hair in these photos (haven’t washed it in four days) Some of you guys are like…”Ew, gross, who does that?!” Yeah, I do!!! Because  ONE- it’s not good to wash your hair every day, or every other day even…. and TWO- if you could go a few days with out having to wash your hair when you shower and restyle everytime, would you? So yeah, in this photo, its time for a wash, but I’m proud of that healthy hair!  Also, I’ve been using this spray all summer, not just to give my hair texture, but for overall hair health. I highlight my hair, and just had my hair done last month, soo looking at those dark roots, that’s how much it has grown in just a month! CRAZY AWESOME! Trying to grow this mane out you guys! So here’s the recipe, how I use it for hair health and salty beach like waves. Also, if you don’t currently use essential oils, and are interested in this recipe, enter to win a bottle over on my Facebook page.

In a 2oz glass bottle combine 1/4 cup of distilled water and 1 tablespoon of coconut milk. Add 10 drops of lavender essential oil (for hair growth support) and 10 drops of Cedarwood essential oil (to help those with dry scalp) and often times I use Rosemary, but am out at the moment. Shake before each use, and I store mine in the refrigerator.

This is a fun recipe for little girls and you can add sparkle to it, and let them decorate the bottle with cute stickers.

I add a few sprays to my combed through/towel dried hair, after getting out of the shower. If i want to have the textured wavy look like I do in the photos, I don’t blow dry my hair, but let it air dry, scrunching it some with my hands. DSC_4145

I reapply it as needed during the week or after I curl my hair for extra texture.

Obviously my kids are digging this spray too… and it’s non toxic. I’m not saying give them a straw, and let them drink up, but I let them have a few sprays too!

(I diffuse both lavender and cedarwood in their bedroom at night for sleep support)

Get it?….

If you have any questions about the recipe, or oils in general, please shoot me an email, and I’d be happy to help you out! Also, check out my FB post, to win a bottle of this spray!

What’s in my diaper bag (almost) three kids later…

20562061_10209168228753940_75080493_nI posted a diaper bag essentials a few years ago, that you can find HERE and surprisingly it’s almost exactly the same!

I remember after having Rosalie (I think my diaper bag was a long champ purse) I would  take everything with me when I left the house, in fear that I would forget something, or need something I wasn’t thinking about… Yep, first time mom. Llewyn came a long, and I had kind of figured out what the necessities were, so my diaper bag, which was upgraded from a huge purse, was a little more organized, with much fewer items.  I can remember changing Rosalie’s diaper when we were out somewhere (she was only like a month old) and because I had packed EVERYTHING in the bag, I couldn’t find what was suppose to be the purpose of the bag, a diaper… talk about panic mode. So, I try to keep it simple and organized, and if I’m out somewhere, and I need something that bad, there’s always Target.. ha ha ha

So, here’s a little bit about what’s essential to have in my bag, now having two and soon to be, three little ones.

First off– I think finding a good diaper bag, that you like, is neutral and will go with anything you wear, is key (maybe ask your hubby if he would carry it too?…..or not… yeah, probably not.. ) Also, one that has lots of pockets for organizing, and I find that a back pack style bag, is the way to go! This one is from Fawn Design, and I’m really not sure how I’ve gone so long without it, because it really is the best!

^^basically everything I have in there, minus a few little things (water bottle, wallet, lipstick or makeup, cellphone, first aid.)

I always carry a book, and some sort of toy/stuffed animal, and I normally switch these things out so they don’t get bored with it. I also have a pacifier pictured with a clip, and this is something I always carried, even though R and L never took one.. (just in case…ya know?) Fingers crossed for this baby boy though!

I always throw some sort of snack in my bag, and it’s normally these pouches or granola (what ever is easy!) Also, Rosalie and her hair clips…

Extra change of clothes for a new born.. yeah, that’s key…..the blow outs are the real deal people! Also, while I’m potty training, I always carry a change of clothes just in case. Bug spray, really a seasonal necessity, but they love my kids as much as I do, so I have to keep it on hand. I don’t normally pack sunscreen, because I use a babyganics lotion that has it included (but if we are going to be in the sun playing, I’ll throw it in too!)  I  keep a roller bottle of peace and calming essential oil, do you need to ask…..? No, its not for my kids, its for me!!! (if you don’t pack this in your diaper bag….. please do yourself a favor and message me!) “Hanitizer” because germs.. and it’s thieves and it smells good, and it can be so entertaining.. DSC_4101

Diapers and Wipes, and a blanket, because I’m still not comfortable nursing in public with out one.

I hope this is helpful to someone, if you’re a new mom, or a mom who’s still trying to figure it out, like me!

Any questions, feel free to leave a comment/email me!
